I recently setup a PowerTap hub on my road bike and starting to figure it out. To help me along I also got a copy of the new Training and Racing With A Power Meter 2nd Edition. It’s pretty easy to just ride and see your power, but to actually make good use of your […]

A week of rest
A week of rest really makes a different. I’m faster, stronger and able to sustain a higher HR for a longer time. During the week, I did get 5 hrs of riding and a 3hr hike in. I was also getting 10hrs of sleep a night, which for me is 2 or 3 more hrs […]
Riding in Yellowstone and the Tetons
I had a nice vacation, and rest week in the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. There is no mountain biking off road in any US national park, so I took my road bike along with me. I ended up with two nice road rides. The first ride was an out and back on a […]
Learning Power with Powertap
I did my first ride using the Powertap today. The weather was terrible so I decided to do some 2×2 on the trainer. Below is the graph with power and hr from the workout. I don’t know my max power or ftp yet, but that will come at the end of next week after a […]

Early morning ride
I got out on the MTB at 6:00 this morning for a ride in Golden Gate Canyon SP. I brought my camera for once to get some great shots of the sun rising. I also thought I might see some animals. I did see some Elk and sweet single track.

Full Growler Done!
8th place in age group, 42nd overall. Hardest course I’ve ever raced. Had a nice ‘recovery’ ride with Jon today which included 3600ft climbing in 2hrs. Surprisingly, I felt great. Race report to come in the next day or two.
RMU Points
The RMU points are posted on the Warriors Cycling site. This is my first glimpse of who is racing the series, and where I stand. I’m currently in fifth in my age group, which isn’t too bad considering I didn’t get any points for the Front Range 50. The following races is where the points […]
