The trails are still full of snow and I’ve been stuck on the trainer for the last week except for a nice long ride this past sunday. However, last night I had the opportunity to get out later afternoon. The weather was the best it’s been in two weeks. The high temp for the day was 53 and very little wind. Perfect for a peak to peak road ride.
Jon and I set out for the usual ride to Ned and back. This is a great ride, with 30 miles and 3500 ft of climbing. It’s been about two months since I did this ride last. It’s always a great workout, but I’ve never done it at night. It was the perfect evening for it. We knew we would be getting home in after dark, we planned on hooking up our lights we got for the 24hrs of Moab. These were perfect for night riding on the roads. I can say that I can’t imagine having enough light for riding at night on the MTB
By the time we finished, it was pitch black, and about the temp was in the low to mid 40’s.
I’m thinking if the weather permits, I’ll be doing this again.
