This is long over due, but I though I put in a few words about my first attempt at the Breck 100. First of all, a great race, well organized and staffed. The 6am start was a little tough, but after we got rolling, everything was fine.
I ended up 19th overall, and 6th in my age group, in 10:10hr.
The race went as planed for me. I had expected to finish in 10hrs, and had set out for a pace of 9.5mph avg speed, in my zone 3 HR. On the climbs, HR moved in to low zone 4, which I was still able to maintain through out the race.

However, after 8 hours, and at the top of Boreas Pass Road, I did stop for some real food. I had a couple of bananas and some fig newtons.
