Handys Kansas Ride

Another nice long ride, this time out in the plains on Handy’s Kansas Ride.  This is a route that goes East of Aurora about 50 miles, then loops back around.  We were riding for 5:49hr, and got in 113 miles.  Amazingly, the total climbing was 4k.  That’s impressive since there are no mountains East of Denver for 100’s of miles.  All the climbing was these short punchy climbs, which we hit pretty hard each time.   I think most of the climbing was in the first 30 miles.

The weather was great, it was nice to be warm, and feel the sun on my face.
